At Kangaroo House, guest rooms are named for our favorite wild birds that throng to our backyard wildlife sanctuary and bird feeders.  Delicious, multi-course breakfasts are served every morning at no additional charge.  You might want to bring your swimsuit to enjoy a relaxing soak in the garden hot tub.  Each room has robes & beach towels for hot tub use, a hair dryer, and a flashlight.  An iron and ironing board are available upon request.

Our largest suite is the only one on the first floor.  The bedroom looks out to the front yard where deer are often seen grazing in the morning and twilight.  It has a king bed with a beautiful smooth, dark wooden headboard, stained glass reading lamps, and an antique armoire.  Choose from the selection of DVDs, kick back and relax.  The private sitting room provides a great place to read and relax in the 1860’s wing back chairs enjoyed by four generations of our family and a stunning stained glass picture window.  The tilt-down Full size bed remains hidden in the cabinet unless needed for extra quests. The private bath has a sink custom-installed in a lovely antique birdseye maple dresser, and a full sized tub/shower combination.

T
he Steller Suite is ideal for honeymooners, or that special occasion getaway when you’re looking for privacy and extra space.  It also works well for 2 couples travelling together or a family on vacation.

The Nuthatch Room {pronounced nut-hatch}, named for the adorable Redbreasted Nuthatch bird, has a second floor window that overlooks the strolling gardens at the back of the house.  The Nuthatch Room features a Queen sized private chamber enclosed on three sides and draped on the fourth side in rich red tapestry with an antique chandelier hanging above the bed, casting an amber glow.  It’s like climbing into Cinderella’s coach, only more romantic.  The room is sage green with pine wainscotting.  There is also a twin bed tucked under the eave (many adults find this bed quite adequate, but it does have restricted head room).  There is a pedestal sink and mirror in the bedroom, and a private bathroom with shower.   Note: The enclosed Queen bed is particularly romantic and comfortable but is not well suited for the mobility impaired.  If you are up and down often at night, use a c-pap machine, etc., plan on using this room’s twin bed or make a different room choice.
